SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS:
tr2tog: yoh, pick up loop through stitch, yoh, pull through 2 loops on hook (2 loops still on hook), yoh, pick up loop through next st, pull through 2 loops on hook, (31oops still on hook), yoh, pull through all 3 loops.
NOTE: The stitches making up the tr2tog are just the beginning steps to normal double trebles. Work as a treble into st until you have 2 loops left on the hook. Do not finish the double treble . Work another partial treble into the next stitch. You should have 3loops left on the hook (and 2 partial double trebles formed). Yoh and pull through a11 3 1oops.
tr3tog: as above but working 1 more partial tr into the next st (you will have 41oops left on your hook), yoh, pull through all 4 1oops. tr4tog: as above but working 2 more partial tr into the next 2 stitches (you will have 5loops left on your hook), yoh, pull through all 5 1oops.
Foundation Ring.
Using 6.50mm hook make 4ch, join with a s1 st into Ist chain to form a ring.
Round 1: 8 dc into ring. Slip st into 1st dc of round.
Round. 2: 3 ch, l tr into next dc, 2 tr into next dc, (4ch, 2tr into next dc, 2tr into next dc) 3 times, 4ch, sl st into 3rd ch of starting ch3.
Round 3: 3 ch, 1tr into same stitch as s1 st of end of last row, 1 tr into each of next 2 tr, 2 tr into next tr, (3 ch, 1dc into next 4-ch loop, 3 ch, 2 tr into next tr, 1 tr into each of next 2tr, 2 tr into tr)3 times, 3 ch, 1 dc iuto 4-ch loop, 3 ch, s1 st into 3rd ch of starting 3 ch.
Round 4: 2 ch, 1 tr into next tr, 1tr into each of next 2 tr, tr2tog (3 ch, dc into next loop, 4ch, 1 dc into next loop, 3 ch, tr2tog, 2tr in each of next 2 tr, tr2tog) 3 times, 3 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 4 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 3 ch, s1 st into 2nd ch of starting 2 ch.
Round 5: 3ch,1tr into each of next 3 tr, (3 ch, 1dc into next loop, 4ch, 1 dc into next loop, 4ch, 1 dc into next loop, 3 ch, 1tr into each of next 4 tr) 3 times, 3 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 4 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 4 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 3 ch, s1 st into 3rd ch of Starting 3 ch.
Round 6: 2 ch, tr3tog, (4ch, 1dc into next loop, 6 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 6 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 6 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 4ch, tr4tog) 3 times, 4ch, 1 dc into next loop, 6 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 6 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 6 ch, 1 dc into next loop, 1 ch, 1 tr into top of 1st tr3tog of round. (You will have finished at the center top of a loop.)
Round 7: *4ch, ( 1 dc into next loop, 3ch) twice, 3ch, (3tr, 4ch, 3tr) 1 dc into next loop, (3 ch, 1 dc into next loop ) twice *, repeat from * to* 3 times working a sl st into the Ist dc of round instead of the last ( 1 dc into next loop).
Border: 1 dc into same dc as sl st at end of last round, 3 dc into next loop, 1 dc into next dc, 2 dc into next loop. 1 dc into next dc, 3 dc into next loop, 1 dc into each of next 3 tr, 5 dc into corner loop, 1 dc into each of next 3 tr, 3 dc into next loop, 1 dc into next dc, 2 dc into next loop,
continue in this manner to end of round, join with a sl st into Ist dc, fasten off.
TIP: I use a hook a few sizes smaller to crochet the dc border. This gives a nice firm neat edge.
